The great poet Rumi wrote: "This moment is all there is."

Human beings alone struggle with this concept. They worry about the future and drift to the past, rarely being in the present moment.
True happiness is found in the present. The trouble with us conditioned souls is that our minds have a difficult time staying there. With practice, we can learn to hold our minds to the present moment and obtain the happiness that lies within.
To start, we can observe nature. Beings in nature, whether plant or animal, are always in the present. Observe an animal, a leaf as it falls from a tree, or an insect. Just observe. No judgment, no analyzing. That is the present.
As you learn to sit in the present, you will find that's where creation happens. The mind, now free from worry and anxiety, will prompt the next right action. Understand that this moment creates both the past and the future. If we act from the present, our future will be perfect.
